Paintings and Prints of Scotland, The Lake
District, Snowdonia and the Alps by Neil J Barlow
About our Prints.
All our prints are reproduced to the highest standards from original watercolour
paintings by Neil J Barlow. Neil has supervised the production of every print to
ensure that the colour and detail of the original have been reproduced as
faithfully as possible.
Our extensive range is second to none, and is
still evolving and improving.

In this photograph a test print has been cut
diagonally between the arrows, and laid on top of the original painting to check colour
accuracy. |
At first our prints were produced for us by
skilled craftsman printers, using lithographic machines, fine art printing
papers, and lightfast inks. Now, the advent of sophisticated digital technology has enabled us to produce
all our prints in-house and; with every aspect of production from the first
brushstroke to the finished print under our control; to achieve higher standards
than was previously possible.
We use Epson professional machines
equipped with the latest, lightfast, pigment based inksets; and print on fine
papers made either by Epson, or St Cuthberts Mill.
Digitally produced
prints are now commonly referred to as "Giclée" prints, and we have used this
term in our descriptions to help you identify them.

Framed Prints.
Most of our prints are now available framed in a choice of styles that have been carefully selected to match the
artwork.
Framed prints are available in a choice of light or dark coloured mount.
Our dark blue and dark brown
coloured mounts have been chosen to both compliment and contrast with the colours and tones in the print to bring out
the full impact of the original painting. Because the mount colour has been chosen to match the colours in the print
these are not interchangeable.
Light coloured mounts are pale ivory, the ideal colour to match almost any decor. |
Mahogany Frame with Ivory Mount |
All our mounts have a stay-white core which will not discolour with age, and are manufactured from
lignin free alpha celulose buffered with calcium carbonate to protect the print from attack by airbourne acidic
pollutants.
Or frames are finished in dark wood, warm silver, gold
or pine. The dark wood moulding is stained mahogany
with black outer edge and gold sight edge. The silver gold moulding has a pleasing warm tone with a brushed metallic
finish. Our gold moulding also has a brushed metallic finish whilst
the pine is totally natural.
For safety in transit all our frames are fitted with unbreakable acrylic glass and are supplied
complete with hanging cord and wall hook.
